La’Trya Gordon is a 19-year old Belmont University student. She attends college full-time under scholarship and is the parental guardian for her six-year old brother. La’Trya has worked and provided for her home since age 16. She hopes to complete college and have a better place to raise her brother. In her words she would like to stay in east Nashville. When we asked her about her American dream home, La’Trya expressed to live in a safe and secure environment. She wants to have a home in a safe neighborhood that supports a community environment and has close proximity to bike trails. Home means family for La’Trya.
